Osb Sheet
Oriented Strand Boards are industrial boards which are obtained by directing 3 different layers of wood chips of a certain size 90 degrees to each other. The reason why these plates have maximum tensile and bending values is this orientation technique. One of the reasons for the increasing demand for OSB boards is that they are an alternative to plywood as they give higher strength values than other normal particle boards.
77% of OSB plate production, which is 18 million cubic meters in the world, is realized in North America. With the new investments in Eastern Europe, Russia and China, this production amount will increase to 28 million cubic meters by 2015. Despite these increasing production amounts by 2015, 11-12% demand increase is expected annually.
